Common Issues

"Catch submission failed"

  • Check your internet connection

  • Ensure all four BHRV steps are complete (bump board, hero shot, release video, verify)

  • Make sure photos are clear and well-lit

  • Try resubmitting after a few minutes

"Species not recognized"

  • Use a clear photo with the fish against the measuring board

  • Ensure good lighting (avoid harsh shadows)

  • If the AI cannot identify the species, a manual review will be triggered

"QR code not scanning"

  • Ensure the QR code is printed clearly and not damaged

  • Try adjusting your phone's camera distance

  • Open the camera app directly (not through another app)

"Cannot create derby"

  • Verify you have a Captain or Pro account

  • Check that your shop profile is complete (name, address required)

  • Ensure the derby dates are in the future

"Prize redemption code invalid"

  • Codes are single-use and expire after the redemption window

  • Check that the code matches the derby (codes are derby-specific)

  • Contact the derby captain if the issue persists

"Payment failed"

  • Verify your payment method is up to date

  • Check that your card has not expired

  • Try a different payment method

  • Contact support if the issue continues
